Welcome to Operation Hearts from Home

Support our Men and Women Overseas

NOT a political statement. Just a warm way of supporting the mothers, fathers, sisters, brother, sons and daughters that are alone and overseas.
Please care.
Please help.

Thank you for taking the time to find out more about our new program. Because of the heightened security measures in our country, the general public can no longer send care packages directed to "Any Service Member" to our military troops overseas thereby severely limiting the support we can give our troops. So we devised this program enabling all of us to easily participate in sending comfort and a little bit of home to our men and women overseas. While we are not making a political statement, we believe that whatever your political views are, whether you are Democrat or Republican, we all need to support our men and women who are far away from home. They are Mothers and Fathers, Sons and Daughters, Sisters and Brothers, Your Neighbor or perhaps your own Family Member. It's easy and fulfilling and for many, their participation helps ease their own frustrations and pain while letting our troops know we are thinking of them. Here is an email from a Marine's wife that captured our hearts and strengthened our resolve when we started our journey for Operation Hearts from Home.

This is a program designed to effectively deliver the everyday things that make our servicemen and women feel more at home while they are so far away from home. We are now a full coordinator, in that we accept donated goods or donations, inventory and check the items, box them as required for shipping, obtain the necessary postage and deliver the care packages to our designated military institution. We also have volunteers who take the donations designated for care packages and they compete the purchase. Those donations designated for shipping go into our central fund and are used strictly for shipping costs.

How it works, it's so easy :
You chose what you would like to send using the lists below as a guide. (It is not necessarily restricted to the list, but rather use it as a guideline. If you have any questions about something you would like to send that is not on the list, contact us first (310) 991-5945 or robert@busygourmet.com)

Corporate Donations School Programs

Since Everyday Gourmet's Operation Hearts from Home is a certified Coordinator all we ask is that you place them in quart size zip-lock bags (the bags themselves are a favorite with the troops!). We do the rest to make it easiest for you. If you live in Southern California, we can pick up your items from your location (home or office) so you don't have to drive out of your way. For those of you that are out of state or would prefer to drop off your donation yourself, we will send you the address. We will make sure they are all acceptable items (If you have followed the simple guidelines, you will have no problem. If in doubt, please contact us), we then pack them as required in unmarked 14x14 boxes until they reach no more than 30 lbs in weight, using the proper packing materials to keep the items safe.

There are many ways you can participate and show your care and support. Your support in action, click here to see what your donations and contributions mean to our troops.

Where does it go?
We wish to thank everyone for making all of this possible for Operation Hearts from Home and our participants. This is not political. This is not pro or anti war. This is all about supporting our own boys and girls and the smiles you put on the faces of our boys and girls overseas will warm your hearts. God Bless our Troops and we pray for their safe return.
