Support our Men and Women Overseas
NOT a political statement. Just a warm way of supporting the mothers,
fathers, sisters, brother, sons and daughters that are alone and overseas.
Please care.
Please help.

| Thank you for taking the
time to find out more about our new program. Because of the heightened
security measures in our country, the general public can no longer
send care packages directed to "Any Service Member" to
our military troops overseas thereby severly limiting the support
we can give our troops. So we devised this program enabling all
of us to easily participate in sending comfort and a little bit
of home to our men and women overseas. While we are not making a
political statement, we believe that whatever your political views
are, whether you are Democrat or Republican, we all need to support
our men and women who are far away from home. They are Mothers and
Fathers, Sons and Daughters, Sisters and Brothers, Your Neighbor
or perhaps your own Family Member. It's easy and fulfilling and
for many, their participation helps ease their own frustrations
and pain while letting our troops know we are thinking of them.
Here is an email from a Marine's
wife that captured our hearts and strengthened our resolve when
we started our journey for Operation Hearts from Home.
We at Everyday Gourmet have partnered with The Navy League of
the United States (a non-profit civilian organization
founded in 1902 dedicated to supporting our men and women overseas
for over 100 years) and their Operation Interdependence,
a civilian-to-military delivery system. This is a program designed
to effectively deliver the everyday things that make our servicemen
and women feel more at home while they are so far away from home.
How it works, it's so easy :
You chose what you would like to send
using the lists below as a guide. (It
is not necessarily restricted to the list, but rather use it as
a guideline. If you have any questions about something you would
like to send that is not on the list, contact us first (310) 991-5945
or robert@busygourmert.com)
Since Everyday Gourmet's Operation Hearts from Home is
a certified Coordinator for Operation Interdependence, you do
not need to pack your items. All we ask is that you place
them in quart size zip-lock bags (the bags themselves
are a favorite with the troops!). We
do the rest to make it easiest for you. We
will pick up your items from your location (home or office)
so you don't have to drive out of your way, but if you prefer
to drop them off yourself, we will send you the address. We will
make sure they are all acceptable items (If you have followed
the simple guidelines, you will have no problem), we then pack
them in unmarked 14x14 boxes until they reach no more than 30
lbs in weight, using the proper packing materials to keep the
items safe. We personally deliver these boxes to Camp Pendleton
where they are further inspected by Operation Interdependence
sealed and sent off to the troops overseas.
There are many ways you can participate and show your care and
support.

for making all of this possible for Operation Hearts from
Home and our participants. We are proud to now have adopted
our very own Platoon of 50 troops, so keep those goodies coming
!!! This is not political. This not pro or anti war. This is all
about supporting our own boys and girls and the smiles you put on
the faces of our boys and girls overseas will warm your hearts.
**** Please be on guard for the many scams that will inevitably
be flooding the internet asking for gifts and donations that will
never make it overseas. If you would like to verify our standing
and validity with the The Navy League of the United States and Operation
Interdependence, please feel free to contact them at oi@arrenteria.com.
They get tons of email, so please be patient for a reply. |
